Your CougarCard Rights and Obligations
The CougarCard can only be used by the person whose details are on the card. The University has the right to confiscate or refuse to accept a CougarCard for any of its designed applications if it is presented by a person other than its owner. If the CougarCard is confiscated it will be considered to have been lost or stolen and relevant fees will need to be paid for a replacement.
The CougarCard holder is responsible for immediately reporting lost or stolen cards to the CougarCard Center at 509-335-2273 or at cougarcard.wsu.edu. A replacement fee will be required if any CougarCard is lost, stolen or mutilated.
If a problem with your Cougar CASH or Resident Meal Plan account is detected, a current account statement is available to the cardholder upon request. The account holder is responsible for observing the sales transactions debited at the point and time of sale and for monitoring his/her own account balance.
Our self-service tools make managing your Cougar CASH account easy. Using your WSU Network ID to logon to our self-service tools at www.cougarcard.wsu.edu provides an easy, convenient and secure way to manage your Cougar CASH. You can check your account balances, deactivate a lost or stolen card or even view a detailed transaction statement on-line 24 hours per day from the comfort of your own home.
Cougar CASH is a prepaid purchase plan. Refunds payable to the account holder are available upon written request. Refunds can be requested at the CougarCard Center and checks for students will be processed through the WSU Student Accounts Office. Checks for WSU employees will be processed through the Business Services Office. All refunds will be applied to any outstanding balance owed to the University prior to being returned to the account holder or if put on with Visa or MasterCard, it will be returned to the credit card holder account.
If an account balance is inactive for more than one year, the balance of the account will be donated in the account holder’s name to Washington State University.
